We are members of the Federation of English Karate Organisations . Our instructors are all fully registered and certificated.
The aims of the group is to seek out all that is best in Shukokai Karate, to follow the world's best instructors when the chance arises, to develop along traditional lines and to teach each other. There will be no chief instructor as such, all three will be equal and decide the solutions to day to day issues as they arise. We uphold all the traditional Shukokai principles and aim to keep our Kata traditional; we appreciate slight deviation of combinations within Kata between different groups and can tolerate this.
The founder clubs are Dragon Karate Academy (Prestwich), Rochdale Shukokai and Sutemi Shukokai Karate Ryu (Bury).
The instructors are (in alphabetical order) - George Campbell (7th Dan), Adrian Coan (5th Dan), and Stewart Procter (6th Dan). It is essential that our members receive more benefits than before - not less. With this in mind they will continue to enjoy the existing benefits but we will strive for ways of improving the privileges open to them.
If you are a Shukokai group, who would like to be master of your own destiny, to run things in your way with the absolute minimum of interference, then maybe, just maybe, our alliance is the one for you. Why not give us a call (with total confidentiality) to see if we are mutually compatible. Either email us on enquiry@shukokai.info or contact our Association Secretary on 01204 707238.
We welcome your enquiry! If you are enquiring out of curiosity - that's fine. Selection will require that all grades are ratified by proof of certification.
Amongst our credentials we are able to boast two senior instructors who are City & Guilds certificated to assess to NVQ levels II and III not many associations can profess to such an in-depth quality of upper end instruction, yet between our three most senior instructors we can boast an impressive 50 years joint instructional experience.
The mission of the Alliance of Shukokai Karate is to engender martial artists with a spirit of mutual respect and purpose for all people regardless of age, sex, colour or creed.
